A talented trio of home-grown writers celebrate their Northern heritage in remarkable debut novels. 

Father-and-daughter writing team AT Boyle tell the fictional love story of Tommy O’Reilly and Sunehri Saleem set against the 70s viscose industry in From Pakistan to Preston. Sophie Coulombeau’s novel Rites was the winner of the Next Great Novelist Award 2012 and tells the gripping story of four Manchester teenagers whose pact to lose their virginity goes horribly wrong. Stuart Evers is the acclaimed author of Ten Stories About Smoking, which won the 2011 London Book Award. His highly inventive debut novel, If This is Home, travels back and forth between a small town in the North of England and a mysterious complex in Vegas trading in dreams and dark desire.
