I hope Sunjeev sometimes reads his comments here at Picador's webpage, cause I would like him to know how I was touched by his novel. I tried searching for some way of contacting him, but it was useless. I'm
from Croatia, I'm not a Muslim, I'm even an atheist. But I was so inspired by Imtiaz and his emotions, and the last couple of pages were so piercing that I'd cried as a little girl watching Bambi's mum die. One of my favourite novels ever, definitely. I can hardly wait for another Sunjeev's masterpiece. Brilliant.

Hi Dexolinka,
It's great that you enjoyed Ours Are The Streets and found it so moving. I've passed your comment onto Sunjeev, and I'm sure he'll be very pleased to hear from you.

Hi again Dexolinka,
I've had this note back from Sunjeev Sahota in reply to your comment:
Dear dexolinka
Thank you so much for taking the time to comment.
I think Imtiaz is such a conflicted young man, full of yearning, sometimes loving, sometimes spiky; I'm thrilled you responded to him so powerfully. It means a great deal to me.
